LAS VEGAS — VIRGO (vpico.com), an information distribution company focused on the most innovative and complex business-to-business markets that fuel the U.S. and world economies, today announced a record-breaking number of attendees and exhibitors for  its 2012 global expo and conference, SupplySide West.

 

The show’s highlight was its Education Program, Sponsored by BASF Nutrition & Health and featured the most important dietary supplement, food and beverage, and cosmetic and personal care industry topics. “This year's outstanding event provided valuable opportunities to learn from leaders in their fields and sharpen our tools so we can work smarter in an increasingly competitive marketplace,” said Samy Jandali, Vice President, Nutrition & Health, BASF Corporation, North America.  

 

The Program included more than 45 hours of education in the Natural Products INSIDER track for dietary supplements, the Food Product Design track for food and beverage, and the Cosmetics Insights track for personal care and cosmetics.  In addition, attendees participated in another 73 hours of education and training including a popular pre-conference Marketing Insights Summit.

 

“The sessions helped foster a very important dialog to BASF. Our industry colleagues shared ideas on how we can meet the “newtritional” needs of a growing population with fully traceable ingredients in sustainable and eco-efficient products. The most critical information from this Education Program was captured on DVD to extend value from the board room to the supply chain. A record breaking number of DVDs have been pre-sold to show attendees, and today VIRGO begins public DVD pre-sales at supplysidestore.com.

 

SupplySide West  2012 was its largest show to-date, retaining SupplySide West as the world’s largest healthy and innovative ingredients tradeshow.  "The double-digit growth of SupplySide West reflects the incredible innovation, enthusiasm and growth within the markets that we serve, from food & beverage to cosmetic & personal care to dietary supplement & health to animal nutrition and pharma,” said Jon Benninger, Vice President of the Health and Nutrition Network for VIRGO. “SupplySide brings together the entire value chain and empowers people to explore, discover, innovate and market their products and technologies," he added.

·         The show experienced an 11% percent increase in attendance over SupplySide West 2011, nearing 11,000 attendees

·         The show experienced a 9% increase in booths displayed over its prior year, with 1,462 booths displayed

·         Approximately 64 countries were represented by attendees and exhibitors

·         SupplySide West remains the world’s largest event for healthy and innovative ingredients
