PHOENIX - VIRGO (vpico.com), an information distribution company focused on the most innovative and complex business-to-business markets that fuel the U.S. and world economies, unveiled a new website for Infection Control Today (ICT) featuring design and architectural changes.
Infection Control Today, the #1 print, online and e-mail resource for infection preventionists and other infection control professionals, implemented changes in an effort to streamline and simplify the readers’ access to premium content made available on the website.
“With some tremendous growth in traffic and user engagement during 2011, Infection Control Today website has become a key destination for research, regulations and guidelines, and other industry specific data for the growing audience of professionals in infection prevention and control,” said VIRGO’s CEO John Siefert. “As we study the analytics of this traffic, we have seen a growing number of users that are looking for both daily news analysis, along with deeper dive premium content to help in their decision making processes, our new web design makes it even easier for our audience to traverse the site, and find what they are looking for with fewer clicks.”
The premium content, along with the latest news, is now framed individually in Infection Control Today’s “carousel,” the most prominent element in the editorial content area of the website, right at the center of the page.
The premium content includes:
-Digital Issues (digital “magazines” with a mixture of long and short material and magazine-style graphics devoted to exploring a single topic in-depth; delivered as downloadable PDFs)
-Reports (examine specific major issues affecting the industry; delivered as free downloadable PDFs)
-Galleries (Slide Shows and Image Galleries allow the user to get quick information of the major issues and trends)
-Content Library (archived content to answer the most pressing questions)
“These modifications will make it even easier for our audience to access our content than ever before, creating an even greater user experience. We want to ensure that, as a brand, ICT continues to deliver what our audience expects from us.” said Bill Eikost, publisher of Infection Control Today.
Infection Control Today also added a bottom navigation bar that gives the user another easy way to access premium content. This bar includes links to Infection Control Today’s RSS feed, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter pages.
